The Spider and the Wendigos
Spider lies in waiting
In a web beneath the stars
Lies very still then moves in for the kill
A morseau that’s hers to keep
Just a bite to help her sleep
No one ever told you
No one let you know
The words that they said come apart like a thread
Tightened fast to something true
That you had to become you
No one ever tells you how to be what you are
Moonlight glints on spider’s eyes as she sleeps beneath the stars
No one ever tells you how to be what you are
Moonlight through the pine trees
Needles on the ground
Aloft in a glade in a web damp and frayed
While she waits til winter comes
And the web becomes undone
A dark a misty pathway
Cold breathing on her back
Footsteps too close sound like wendigos
But they stop and turn away
They’ll be back for her some day
No one ever tells you how to be what you are
Moonlight glints on spider’s eyes as she sleeps beneath the stars
No one ever tells you how to be what you are
No one ever tells you how to be what you are
Moonlight glints on spider’s eyes as she sleeps beneath the stars
No one ever tells you how to be what you are
